day 003. [confidence]

First off, Happy Memorial Day! I'm so glad I got today off from classes. I don't think I'd have gotten out of bed even if we had classes today. Partially because I was up late talking to various people about what I've been up to, this blog, and talking to Tarra as she finished up our blog that we wrote together :) (ch-ch-check it out). As for today though it's honestly been a lazy day. It was a day that started promptly at 12:30 PM. Probably the latest I've woken up all summer, haha. But how my day started was me going down to the chapel in Corrado to practice some worship music for Hall Mass on Wednesday. I gave up trying to learn the hymns so I ended up just practicing and learning some worship songs that I've known or heard.

While playing some worship music though I realized two things:

The first of the two was my BibTrad passage, Philippians 2:1-11. It's an awesome passage filled with how Christ followers should be. If you aren't familiar with the passage, it's talking about how we need to "self-empty" ourselves and put others before us. In other words be humble, look not to your own interests, but to the interests of others (Philippians 2:4). It's definitely a reminder not to myself, but for others. We get so caught up in our lives that we forget about others around us. Sometimes those other people are people we care about. Just think about it the next time you find yourself getting caught up in your own ambitions ;)

As for the second thing I realized, I realized just how at home I feel in front of the piano (more like behind the piano, haha). This may come to be a shocker for some, but I used to be a shy little kid and I still am a little shy here and there. There's something about being behind the piano and singing worship songs that makes me feel at home and comfortable. I seem to be able to shed off every and any kind of insecurity that is bothering me and just feel powerful and confident. I definitely feel like a different person, but in a good way. Just sitting at the piano and singing is probably one way where I don't feel shy at all. Weird, I know, but it's how I work, haha.

After I did some worship and got my mind focused on the task ahead of me, I decided to really dive into my BibTrad work. I kind of failed and just decided to do some devos, haha. Nothing wrong with that, right?

Eventually I had dinner with Melanie. We made quesadillas!! They were delicious. As for now, we're getting ready for tomorrow [studying and doing homework]. For a much needed homework break we've decided that we're going to play some Guitar Hero and make some playlist for our much needed road trip this weekend!

There's nothing else to say other than tomorrow is June 1st! Crazy how time is flying by.

For you Oak Harbor folks. Be ready for a surprise this Saturday :)
If you know what I'm talking about, keep your mouth shut!

PS. I'm surprised I got a photo of today because at first I had no idea what I was going to do today since I woke up late, but it all worked out in the end. Thanks God! (literally, haha)

day 002. [homework]

Today started by waking up 8:45 AM to get ready for church, which wasn't until 10:00 AM. I loved today's message on Philippians 4:10-20. The worship music was awesome and just added to the message that was given. After wards I came back to campus to have lunch with a few people. Before I had lunch though I ended up grabbing my backpack from my room because I knew I wanted to do some homework after I ate. Although lunch was fun, it was definitely not glorious seeing as it was in The Cove. It was alright though because in the end I had lunch with friends - that's all that mattered.

(I'm about to reference the library, haha) I'm used to the library being open early in the morning to late at night, but the library today wasn't even open until 2 PM. It was kind of weird for me because for a second I didn't know where I was going to do my homework until then, haha. I ended up doing my history homework in the Pilot House. Very different location. Personally I wouldn't do my homework there everyday. How some do it ... beats me!?

After I read for history though I needed to move to the library to do some research for BibTrad. I ran into Madison there. After all, she does work in the library. I found some books on my passage that I'm doing for that class (Philippians 2:1-11). I also made some copies of the pages from a reference book that I needed [Thanks Madison for the help and the copy card!].

Because Madison wanted to visit me in Corrado I decided to up it by asking if she wanted to do dinner. We ended up going to Thai Ginger. I would have loved to put that picture up, but I'm not going to base my project off of "phood photography". Maybe another time I go there I'll put a picture of my dish from Thai Ginger!
We both ended up getting Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice, but I had shrimp with mine. We both got drinks too, I got Sprite and she got Coke. It was tons of fun hanging out with her! Hers was $10 and mine was $11.

After that though, I ended up coming back to Corrado and was on the phone with Tarra about a Communications minor. It was cool because I decided to take laps around the west quad while I spoke to her. That was today, I'm about ready to head to bed even though I have tomorrow off because of Memorial Day (the one holiday UP recognizes, bahaha).

day 001. [flat tire]

So, I went to Little Red with my friend Sam Riofta (I'll definitely have to be going back to Little Red before they close on June 22nd). While we were having our flat tire's and messenger boy's she decided to tell me this cool project that our friend Colin Dorwart got her into. It's called Project 365. (Check this guys project out!) The thing is, I thought it was a cool idea and I thought I'd give it a try. Anyways, after wards I went to go see Sam's apartment because I wanted to see it and check it out. It was tons of fun! Sam, Alli, Colin, and I ended up watching theme songs to 90s shows and we also listened to some Regina Spektor. Sam and Colin took me back to campus because I was quite tired by then (it was about 3:00 when they took me back).

I then hung out with Melanie in her room before we traveled over to YoCream to go have some frozen yogurt. It was our first time there. Unfortunately, I can't put that picture up :( because the whole idea is posting one picture a day. We ate at YoCream for dinner because we really weren't all that hungry to begin with. When we got back to campus she studied/worked on Anatomy while I caught myself up on the first half of Glee! Now we're watching Definitely Maybe after a disaster of trying to watch Final Destination, bahaha.
