day 069. [camp buddies]

Do you guys remember me talking about Kevin and Calley in a few posts back during Kid's Camp. If you do, I don't remember really writing about them, haha. I do remember using a photo of us three though :)

Today was definitely a fun day, and if you want to possibly read more about it check out my friend Matt's blog! He caught a lot of the behind the scene stuff that happened today. [You'll just need to make sure that it's up, ha]

Anyways, this morning I woke up to get ready to go and hang out with Calley and Kevin, who I met from Kid's Camp this year. Those guys are so lucky ... Kevin lives in Arlington and Calley's parents live in Mukilteo, which is where we met up and then we all moved into just one car. Unfortunately, for Matt and I we live in Oak Harbor. Instead of driving around, we just took the ferry to Mukilteo and then met up with Calley and Kevin from there.

Like I said, once we met up we all piled into Calley's car to head over to Seattle. While in Seattle I tried to do some of Kevin's senior photos like I said in yesterday's post, that turned into a major fail because the lighting was just not right and he kept getting washed out in some of the photos. I'm crossing my fingers that things work out on Saturday and he can come up to Oak Harbor where I can do some photos here. Another thing on top of doing his photos is that I'm not used to doing photos of someone while there are a ton of people around us. I'm used to having people actually clear out, ha. I guess it'll be something that I have to get used to and work around the next time I find myself in that situation.

Back to doing his photos, I've never been so frustrated doing photos today, it wasn't Kevin at all, it was seriously my camera and me. I should throw out a thanks to Calley though because she was posing him, seeing as she's a model ;)

In the end though I ended up just giving up and, like I said, waiting until Saturday if things work out.

Besides his senior photos, it was honestly us three just hanging out while Matt took some photos of us three. I warned him about our craziness, but he definitely wasn't ready. For reference, refer to #3 in this post. Did you check it out? Well guess what? That happened today. I think what's worse is that there are now photos of this. Want to know something else about those photos? You'll never get to see them.

I forgot to mention that we saw this card magician who did an awesome trick. It was a card trick, but it sure got us. [I'm so tired if you can't tell, which is why I'm quick to the point with what I'm saying].

Unfortunately, the day ended because Kevin and Calley had work, which they both ended up being late to. Luckily for the both of them though they were alright. Yay for prayer! bahaha.

I hope to be able to hangout with them again seeing as I really do like spending time with those two. Maybe when we hang out the next time we'll keep things to ourselves ... haha. Like that'll ever happen ;)

day 043. [univ. of washington]

I'm aware that this is late, but to justify myself, this is only the 2nd time I've been late posting AND I also didn't get home from hanging out with friends until 2 in the AM. I hope you guys can take that as a legit reason as to why this is a late post ;)

Anyways, so yesterday I hung out with a friend, that I've had since the 6th Grade, at the University of Washington. It was so much fun because she goes to UW and I haven't seen Kathryn since I left for school. I'm pretty sure she was one of the last people I went to say bye to that morning I left. Man, bringing back memories from that last day I was here in Oak Harbor. But yeah, Kathryn was just showing me around campus, which is considerably larger than the University of Portland campus, ha. Tons of walking, I'm pretty sure I got a workout and got my tan going on yesterday seeing as it was really hot yesterday. In fact, I now have a gnarly tan line on my foot from my TOMS. If you want to see how bad it is, just ask me ... it's really bad.

Being at UW, I obviously had to take a lot at their library, haha. Go figure. Well, I'll be sure to link you guys to the library blog to see what I have to say about Univ. of Washington's library compared to the Univ. of Portland's library. Also being there I wanted to see the Harry Potter library that looks like the Great Hall from Harry Potter. Unfortunately, during summer quarter that library isn't open on Saturday's. Looks like Kathryn and I might have to go back to UW when it's open :)

I definitely took a few shots there that I want to show off, so keep an eye out on my flickr as well. Also, what was really cool was there were three different weddings going on at the UW Campus, ha. I really do have so much more to say, but it's kind of escaping my memory, haha. Maybe when we go back I'll write about my two visits to UW this past summer. If you're wondering, the picture is of one of the libraries! I love me my libraries X)

When we got back to Oak Harbor, I right of way went to my friend Courtney's grad party. It was really weird because I've known Courtney since she was in kindergarten. Now she's going off to school in Montana next year. It was a lot of fun hanging out with some of the Class of 2010 Graduates. It was honestly the first time I've hung out with a good group of them since I saw them last year after I graduated.

Afterwards I headed over to my friend Alexa's house where our other friend Kelsey came and joined us. Here's the catch they're upcoming Juniors, ha. When the three of us have hung out we always end up baking funfetti stuff. Before baking though we went and watched the sunset at West Beach. I'm starting to realize I can only watch the sunset so many times before it practically is the same one. From the sunset we went to Albertson's to pick up the funfetti where we saw Mr. Matt Poggie!! I love seeing him around. Gave him a good hug too. He's huggable!

When we got back to Alexa's house we had to decide if we wanted to make a funfetti cake. We didn't. Instead we made funfetti cookies! Because of that we managed to have made: Funfetti cupcakes (first time we ever baked), Funfetti cake (second time), and Funfetti cookies (third time). I always have a ton of fun hanging/baking with these ladies. Can't believe they're juniors this upcoming school year. I'm fo'sho going to be hanging out with these two more than just one more time this summer before I head back down to Portland.

day 009. [portland]

For the sake of readers, I've refrained from putting up a picture of books.

Today was the end of a good weekend with my friends. Couldn't have chosen a better bunch to spend a weekend with in my home state.

Anyways, to today's story/blog. Melanie has this GPS that she (we) call Bruce. When we were using him on our way to my house from Seattle, he unknowingly brought us to the Mukilteo Ferry (that would have brought us to the south end of Whidbey Island). We found a detour because we decided to stay on the road. On the way down to Seattle though (today) we decided to give the ferry a try. We barely made it, but we did. On the ferry ride though we saw that this sea-plane was down and out. That put us behind in traveling time a bit, but it was worth knowing that our crew on board was helping out this sea-plane.

We made it to Mukilteo and drove from there to Portland. When we got to Portland though Melanie and I decided to give Keenan some of his presents. Ask him what they were, haha. I'm sure he'll be excited to tell you.

This weekend though, I managed to do absolutely zero work on my BibTrad paper. As I've found out from tonight, that was dumb and it has bitten me in the ass real good. Luckily, it's a rough draft, but even for a rough draft this is rough ... (If you couldn't tell, this was a study break!)

Anyways, back to the paper. Hope you all had an awesome Sunday. Have an awesome Monday as well. After tomorrow, 11 classes left and then I'm home for the summer!

day 007. [seattle]

*First off HAPPY ONE WEEK to me and my Project 365!!

Today was seriously another day where it was hard to choose the photo because I had so many. This time though, none of them had to do with school! It's because all of the photos I took were all around ... SEATTLE!!

My friends Keenan and Melanie and I decided to take a road trip. Luckily for us Melanie's sister goes to Seattle University so we're staying in her apartment. For the sake of pictures,I decided to not include any photos of the campus, haha. (seeing as most of my other pictures in my posts are regarding to my schoolwork and school life)

As for what we did, we walked from her sister's apartment to the Pike Place Market.

On the way down there we stopped at different places and we ate at this place called "Specialty." We also stopped at this really cool record shop that had turn tables.

When we finally reached Pike's Place I actually got to visit the original Starbucks. It was actually kind of cool, not all that exciting, but it was cool. We met this worker there who was from Oregon and told us that we should come up and bring her an "I heart Oregon" sticker. I have one, and I guess I could take a picture of it one day, haha.

I'm glad to be in Seattle. I left out some details, sorry guys, but I think it's time to hang out with my friends and her sister.

Where our road trip will take us next? Who knows? ;)
